Child Care During Spa Services? Just What
Mothers Need.

To help combat a tough economy, a local gym and day spa in Stuart is making it easier for mothers to get a stress-free workout and Spa Services. Grand Island Salon & Day Spa is now offering child care for mothers while partaking in spa services.
The fee is $4 per two hours for the first child; the second child is $3 and third child is free.
Grand Island Salon & Day Spa has just opened to members and the public and business is picking up quickly, according to Manager Tania Schwarz, “Members are really enjoying all of the services and the convenience of having the child care available for their workout, hair and spa services,” said Schwarz. “We cater to mothers that need this service and we offer more activities for children here, such as the Taekwondo and Basket Court.”
The gym, a 57,000 square foot facility, opened in January 2007 and is offering a wide range of activities as well as a variety of classes, a complete circuit just for women, a golf range, a basketball court, running track, steam and dry sauna, juice bar and a clothing store.
Owner Joe Calabria is the visionary that planned this multi-dimensional salon and day spa. “After fifteen years in this business and being a father of two, I know what our members’ needs are,” said Calabria. “We cater to our locals as well as “snow birds,” offering month-to-month membership that suits their budget.”
The Spa, a 3,000 square foot facility, offers a variety of services including hair, nails, facials, massage, waxing, permanent make up and cosmetic teeth whitening, and it is currently in negotiation with a local doctor to offer hair reduction, botox and fillers.
“We are having a high demand for gift certificates for Christmas,” said Schwarz. “Members who are celebrating Christmas in Florida with family from out of state are asking for gift certificates as a way of entertaining their guests. Gym members get 15 percent off all Salon & Spa services all the time and 10 percent off retail products.”
